Community Outreach Coordinator
Who We Are:
At Heart N Hands, our mission is to empower, educate and raise awareness of heart health and disease prevention amongst young girls aged 10-18 and their families. For the past 9 years, our dynamic team has achieved this by providing heart health education, promoting 5K race events and fitness workshops, and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices related to disease prevention and cardiovascular wellness.
The Role:
We are currently seeking an excited and energetic Community Outreach Coordinator to join our amazing team. This position will report to the Founder/President and is responsible for HNH outreach and recruitment of national and local partners for fundraising initiatives. The anticipated hours for this role will be part-time, 20 hours/week.
Responsibilities:
The Community Outreach Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to build strategic relationships in the community as it relates to fundraising, assist with conducting a variety of outreach events/activities, and recruit and retain volunteers for all HNH programs. The community outreach and recruitment expectations include:
1. Creating and implementing annual community outreach plans
2. Developing marketing plans for recruiting new volunteers and clients in line with organizational objectives
3. Recruiting, placing, retaining and supporting HNH volunteers
4. Attending relevant community meetings and events
5. Conducting and compiling annual partner and volunteer satisfaction surveys
6. Maintaining relationships with collaborative partners and cultivating new ones
7. Developing the monthly HNH Calendar of Events and coordinating special events
8. Creating, coordinating and implementing volunteer recognition activities (annual volunteer appreciation
events, volunteer e-Newsletter, securing volunteer awards for special achievements)
9. Managing volunteer database and reporting functions
10. Recording monthly volunteer hours in a timely manner for volunteers and board of directors
Qualifications & Competencies:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum one year experience in successful community outreach/recruitment and volunteer coordination; Have an interest in the non-profit sector, fundraising and the Heart N Hands mission Excellent public speaking and presentation skills; Ability to connect with others and forge strong relationships; Committed to the mission of educating young girls about heart health; Highly organized, analytical, IT-competent – proficient in Microsoft Office programs; Ability to perform several tasks concurrently, time management and organizational skills; Ability to support, network and motivate staff, volunteers and clientele; Ability to maintain confidential information; Ability to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines.
Essential functions/working conditions: Light physical demands; Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and changing priorities; Able to operate computer/computer systems; Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

HEART N HANDS is seeking an efficient, passionate program coordinator to join our team and maximize our impact as an organization. The program coordinator will be responsible for developing effective programs, overseeing activities and details, and measuring overall success. Their duties will consist of managing various administrative tasks, tracking the budget, and ensuring that the program meets company goals. With a commitment to excellence, our ideal candidate will also strive to create positive experiences for all participants and repeat best practices for future programs.

Social Media & Marketing Coordinator
PURPOSE: To help boost the social media presence of HEART N HANDS creating and executing digital marketing strategies to inform, advertise, and attract increased public interest on a continual basis. This position will also handle the organization's social media accounts, monitoring comments and interacting with the digital media community.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
The successful Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will create and maintain an online brand presence for HEART N HANDS across a variety of platforms. This position takes great creativity and ingenuity as you will be creating engaging online content for Instagram, Facebook٫ and related digital platforms. If you are technologically savvy and love to engage with clients online٫ this position would be a great fit for you. Design communication and research skills as well as previous experience with online marketing through social media is a plus for this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing preferred or current college student majoring in Marketing/Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Social Services or related field.
Experience:
Hours required: Minimum 10 hours, up to 25 hours per week; hybrid schedule

- Identify program deliverables, action items, logistics. Determine staffing requirements, promotional materials/giveaways, run of shows, post event surveys, etc.
- Oversee administrative, operational, and logistical activities for all programs.
- Track and approve relevant expenses for activities and materials.
- Develop program budgets based on materials needed and submit to Operations Manager for review & approval
- Identify necessary supplies for purchase for program setup and execution.
- Partner with Community Outreach and Social Media Coordinator for promotional materials to encourage community participation.
- Identify best practices and procedures to inform future programs.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Maintain consistent communication with team members, external vendors and organizers.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors at all times.
Education:
- Recent grad or current student majoring in marketing, journalism, public relations, public health, social services or related fields preferred.
- Previous Program Coordinator or related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating activities and events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Firm understanding of procedures that increase efficiency.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and budgeting processes for events.
- Dedication to fostering a collaborative team.

- Facilitate and engage in online conversations with the public٫ including responding to queries or questions from those expressing interest in Heart N Hands.
- Utilization of online chat feature (general questions tool on website), develop FAQs as result of questions received in website
- Facilitate training or best practices/lessons learned on proficient social media use for coworkers and board members.
- Share with team and board members ideas for continuous growth of Heart N Hands online presence
- Explore how global digital marketing trends can benefit Heart N Hands
- Suggest and research new ways to attract or engage customers٫ including promotions, contests, or other methods.
- Develop and implement optimal content and posting schedules, taking into consideration metrics and customer engagement.
- Create social media content calendar
- Create marketing materials for organization and various programming
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors at all times.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing preferred or current college student majoring in Marketing/Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Social Services or related field.
Experience:
- 1-3 years Social Media Coordinator or related experience preferred.
- Passionate about non-profit sector and Heart N Hands cause
- Ability to deliver unique and engaging social media content to all age demographics.
- Familiarity with current online marketing strategies and implementation methods.
- Ability to predict and grasp future internet trends and technological trends to anticipate customer engagement.
- Strong analytical, multitasking, and communication skills.

- Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Experience with institutional databases, public access sites and primary search skills.
